How good of a writer are you?????

Writing A Good Police Report As a sergeant, I now go through and read officer's police reports on a regular basis. In doing this, I've realized that there a lot of officers that are either making their police report writing more difficult then they need to be, forgetting important elements, adding more then needed, or just not making the police report flow. I've learned and understand now that every officer's police report will always be different in the way they are presented, and that's fine; however, I'm going to try to explain and illustrate how my first training officer taught me, and how I personally think its one of the better ways to write reports. And its quite simply making it simple for the reader to follow along. The reason is, you never want your reader to get lost, or wonder what's going on while they're reading. As you can see in the photos these officers are using their mics correctly allowing the dominant hand to be free in case a quick grab for your weapon is needed, and they can't be strangled with the cords!!! Tips on how to correctly manipulate your portable radio How many cops carry a portable radio? How many use the extended microphone that attaches somewhere near their head in the epilate? How many police officers talk on the portable radio? I think the answer will be everyone in patrol. My safety tip is how you talk or more correctly manipulate that radio. How many times have you seen an officer right handed or left handed reach across their body with their strong hand and key the microphone to talk, maybe even tilting their head toward the microphone side.
